Does my age and health matter??

Hi everyone,

I have been thinking about my IVF I am scheduled for (starting Meds in Sept) more and more, just wondering is this reall going to work for me? My husband and I are 27, healthy and ready for a baby...my body just doesn't produce the necessary hormones needed to get preggers on our own, SO here we are. I know the stats and everything involved with IVF... I feel in my heart this is going to work for us, but then again I want it so bad that I'm trying to make myself believe it. I guess I was just wondering if its really TRUE that age affects your chances of getting pregnant and carrying full term?? What do you all think?? I would love any opinions, comments or info on this. This was probably the biggest decision my husband and I have ever made.

Thanks! Mandy

" You are young! I am 29 and my RE said that we are "just babies." When we looked at the statistics for the clinic, the success rates of IVF didn't drop til after age 35. Good luck. "

" Like "TiredJen" above, I'm also 29 and my doctor said almost the same thing. Time is on your side. Good luck! "

" You are at the perfect age. I am 36 and have been trying since I was your age...we are just now at the point of IVF (this is my second round). So I think that you are doing the right thing starting so early. If I only would have known what I know now...I would have went straight to IVF and skipped everything else... then I would have only increased my chances. Best of luck and baby dust to you. "

" Thank you everyone! I think it helps hearing positive comments and feedback, especially from others who have experience.....I defintely think we made the right choice moving forward ASAP on this... in my heart I did not feel a "miracle" would happen on its own, let alone AI alone. I think IVF is our best bet right now to starting a family:) Enjoy the weekend! "
