I'm just wondering how you ladies feel.......

1. If you are a step mom does your step kids do anything for you?

2. If you are a step mom does your husband do anything for you on mother's day?

3. Do you think step kids should do something for the step mom on Mother's Day?

4. If you are disappointed or hurt that nothing is done or said on the day is that wrong?

Just curious what your thoughts are if you are a step mom and how you feel about mother's day?

Thanks.

" I'm a step mom and no one has ever done anything for me on Mother's Day. The one time we all attended the special service at church together, the pastor gave us all carnations. On the way home, my DH was upset with me because I wouldn't let me step-daughter hold it (I was so thankful to have gotten it as a step-parent and was just continually smelling it). So, I did...she snapped it in half. Kind of the outward showing of the broken spirit inside...I don't think she did it on purpose, but it just seemed like it was fitting that it happened. My dreams of being a mom...continually, broken. Now, I just anxiously await this holiday to be over with. "

" I am a step-mother and don't get anything for Mother's Day. It would be nice if my DH thought to at least get me a card this yr. since it's been such a bad yr. but I doubt it. "

" You all have just made me appreciate my husband that mch more. I am a step mom of 2 and mom of 1. My kids did not do anything for me but they are still young. But my husband bought me a card roses and took me to dinner. He said even though I am not there biologically mother that I still take excellent care of them and for that he appreciates and love me that much more. My question to the other is are the children young? And how does your husband feel about you when it comes to the child. I hope that question makes sense. If not i can try to rephrase it. "

" My husband has always felt more like I'm supposed to be my step-daughters 'playmate' and not much more (we're in counseling, currently). She just turned 8 in April and stays with us 3 months out of the year. "
