Ok, my 2ww begins! :(
I have a question for those of you that have done the IVF thing. Warning TMI… I have been very uncomfortable over the last few days. I had my RE on Wed. I have felt very bloated & crampy since. The pharmacist warned the Vicadan(sp?) might make me constipated & it did. He suggested fiber so I ate dried apricots. But then I had the opposite problem & had diarrhea. Actually it was really odd, like worse that diarrhea, like a lot of bile or something. Today I had the ET & I am still very sore. It is uncomfortable to walk & my stomach is gurgling & crampy still. I have had a little gas, but not really. I can’t decide if it is more gastrointestinal or uterine cramps, maybe both. So, besides being very uncomfortable, I am also worried if in anyway all this could inhibit or complicate implantation? Is this something I should worry about or call RE about? Gosh as if this 2ww isn’t difficult enough. Posted on 08/16/08, 12:08 am |

You sound a lot like I did at that point. How many eggs did you get at ER? I had the walking and uncomfortable issues as well, and I was suffering from OHSS. This was with me for 90% of my 2WW. It gradually got better but the walking and the bloating were the last things to get better. As for the diarrhea, if you are still experiencing problems, make sure you are drinking plenty of water or gatorade to make sure that you don't get dehydrated. For the cramping/grugling you can't put heat directly on your stomach, so I would recommend on your back or your side to maybe help. If you feel that things may be inhibiting, do call your RE. That is what you pay them money for, is to help you when you have questions. I hope this works for you.

i have had alot of bloating and cramping since my ER and ET this week also. i also have been constipated. the nurse said it could be from the antibiotic. i think it just takes time to go down and get back to normal. i had this with my other cycles also. good luck

I definitely felt weird after my transfer--bloated with cramps high in the abdomen--like right under my belly button--so I don't think they were uterine cramps, but it was hard to tell for sure. I suspect it was gas but it lasted for like two days! I called a nurse at my dr's office (I'm a big believer in calling about anything that feels weird, just because it helps put your mind at ease) and she said it's common and may be from the progesterone, which can cause constipation too. She said I could take Tums but I didn't want to do anything that could jeopardize anything with implantation so I just waited for it to get better, which I'm happy to say it finally did! My acupuncturist told me to eat organic walnuts and sesame seeds to help with the cramping/constipation. Hope you feel better soon!

I felt the same way with being so uncomfortable to walk and bloating. I too had OHSS. The diarrhea or constipation neither one should interfere with your implantation but to ease your mind make a phone call. Thats there job. Good luck in you 2ww. Sticky baby dust to you.

I had very similar symptoms after my ER and ET. It got so bad I went back to the RE before my 2 ww wait was up. I had developed a mild case of OHSS. I was extremely bloated, have awful constipation, then diarrhea, etc. I was in misery, but in the end it was all worth it because I got a BFP. I wish you lots of love, luck and baby dust:)

I felt exactly the same way (ER on 8/8 and ET on 8/11) - hard to tell where cramping ended and gastro pain began. But I feel a lot better now. The day or two after my ET I started noticing that the cramps weren't really there anymore and the bloating is slowly going down. My biggest symptom at this point is really sore boobs - which I guess is from the progesterone. My RE said that cramping and bloating throughout the 2WW is to be expected.
Good luck on your wait. I am one week into mine and it is excruciating so far - I'm very emotional. Hope yours is going better!
