We have gone through two failed fresh IVF cycles and will be doing a FET at the end of the month or August 1st.. This will be our last attempt with the 2 frozen embryo's we have left. They are 5 day embryo's and was wondering what everyone's opinion is on if I should request assisted hatching or not? It's $975.00 more to do so.
I have a really good feeling about this cycle and really think it's going to work. :) Please keep me in your prayers. Thank you. Posted on 07/07/08, 11:07 am |

I don't have any experience with this so take this strictly as opinion. I would to the assisted hatching. I feel like it all costs so much money, if you can do it and it increases the chances, do it! I would do your research and I am sure others here will have better input but that is my opinion.
Good luck!

I think it is too late for Assisted Hatching on 5 days embryo. They had to perform the procedure on 3 days embryo.
You migt want to ask your RE.... Good luck and sending you tons of baby dust!

I am doing AH w/my FET. I think it ups your chances of implanting. I did AH w/my fresh cycle last year and both implanted. unfortunately, I lost them both but not because of the AH. It cost us about $500 for the two. My doctor said we may do it again. It depends on how the embryo looks at the thaw. If it is already hatching on it owns then no need. I do believe you can do it on a 5 day. Good luck.

Thank you for your responses. I pretty sure that we can do AH with 5 day forzen embryo's. It would be nice if the RE would be honest enough with us and let us know if the embryo's were already hatching or not and if it was needed or not but I'm just not sure if they would.

I would definitely do it if you still can. I think they usually decide, but if you ask, I guess they have to consider, huh? I say, GO for whatever might get that BFP so maybe you won't have to go through another fresh cycle. Good luck!

I had AH for both of my FET and the second one worked. I just think it is the luck fo the draw. I think if you feel like this one is the one go with your gut feeling, I had that same gut feeling on my second FET and got a BFP but then I lost the baby but what matters is that it works when you stay positive like that. Good luck and wishing you tons of baby dust...
