Cysts in Ovaries??

I went in this morning for my day two baseline FSH and Estradiol bloodwork and Ultrasound. My uterine lining was at 4MM (they said anything under 6 was good so WOO HOO). However they found one cyst in each of my ovaries. They weren't very large but they were definitely visible. She said it may or may not cancel my cycle based on what the bloodwork comes back as. We should have bloodwork back today and if we get the thumbs up, we'll start our protocol TONIGHT!
Has anyone else ever had a cycst like that and still was able to move forward with your Clomid, etc???? Posted on 07/03/08, 12:07 pm |

I was never checked when on Clomid, but I am sure I had cysts. I ALWAYS had cysts after Follistim, so I had to go on birth control every other cycle to let them disolve. From what I have read they can interfere with ovulation if you OI with cysts. I hated it at the time, but now it makes sense.

I have had many cancelled IUI's because of cysts. If they are tiny then they go ahead. I wouldn't push the issue if they say no since it is really painful when they get big.

When I had a cycst they made me get checked again in a few days and make sure the cyst dissolved on it's own. It's my understanding depending on the size etc that you have to wait before taking Clomid. I could be wrong though.

I had quite a large cyst and a smaller cyst on my left (and only) ovary at the beginning of this last cycle. They do bloodwork, and if it's not producing hormones, they'll usually let you go ahead. Mine were not producing hormones and I went ahead with my cycle, and they had shrunk some. If they are too big, they don't want them taking up all the room on your ovary for when you stimulate, so that may be a reason to either aspirate it or take birth control for it to shrink.

i think it depends on the doctor. i had a cyst on my right ovary when i was suppose to start my first round of injections. my doctor decided to wait it out because she was afraid it my rupture and temporarily ruin my chances. but in my situation my cyst appeared within 2 weeks and miraculously disappeared just as fast. my cyst was 6cm so it was a miracle that it did disappear that fast. i was able to do injections right after the cyst went away and i got pregnant w/twins. now i am due in 2 1/2 weeks. so don't get discouraged miracles happen everyday.
