Hi ladies. I've been nervous to speak of news until now for fear that once I actually typed it, it would all go away. Talk about superstitious, right?
Well, first beta was 93, second was 288 and third was yesterday at 1500. They tell me that I am at the 5 week mark and that I will have my first ultrasound in a week and a half and that I should be able to hear a heartbeat then. I know that I should just be over the moon, but this is my very first pregnancy (first IVF and 3 failed IUI's prior) and quite frankly I'm PETRIFIED of a miscarriage! Logically, I know that there's nothing I really can do to prevent something like that happening, but I'm still scared nonetheless. I pray everyday that God lets me keep this little baby and finally gives us the family that we have been longing for for so long. I've somehow got to get over this fear...does anyone have any advice to SNAP me out of it? I expected to me running around my house screaming with joy at this point, not sitting nervously in a corner! LOL Posted on 05/10/08, 08:05 am |

congrats! I am the same way as you! !we had our 1st beta on monday and it was 84.4 and the 2nd on Thursday was 247!!! THey arent doing any more beta's and just sending to u/s around the 20th and I am soooo scared!! IVF#1 we had a chemical preg and now this is the first BFP!!! I am soo excited and our friends and family are ecstatic as we have been trying for 9 years but I am soo scared!! I thought for sure I was going to get a BFN this time and I didnt so I think I am still in shock! lol

I actually felt like AF was coming really bad and was convinced we were going to get a BFN!! !I died when she called and said it was +++++!!!!

Congrats. While you are probably always going to be nervous please remember to enjoy what you have. You've made a gift that some cannot even get and don't have the opportunity to fear or enjoy.

I am 17 weeks pregnant after my son Gavin was stillborn and I am a mess. I have so much anxiety and I am coming out of my skin. I wish I had some magical answer for you and myself for that matter. I am just trying to take it one day at a time and pray for the best. I beg this baby everyday not to die and I don't think I have ever prayed more in my life.
