It's pretty much another one of those useless holidays, like Valentines Day. I can't remember what movie it's in that says it's a holiday invented by greeting card companies to make people feel like shit. lol. Really though, I am just going to focus on being grateful for my own mom.

I don't like this day either. My mother died about 2 1/2 years ago. Don't have a mother, can't be a mother. Don't like the day.

Me too... and its hurts more each day when I see ads about mothers days, reserve mothers day lunch, roses and all the shit.
IT JUST DEPRESSES ME!

I totally understand!! It is so hard to deal with and so hard to be happy for everyone else when you are just melting into nothing inside! It is indescribable to others even unless they have been through it too.
As if holidays weren't enough, my extended family has get togethers about once a month at least and the topic of conversation usually revolves around who is pregnant or engaged. I am one of 31 grandchildren, my family is very close and we are all at reproducing age.
I pretty much just don't go to any events anymore, because I can not handle it.
My advice to you is to spend the day with just your husband and do things that you enjoy that make you happy. It is better to focus on the positive than to put yourself in a situation where you will go home miserable. It is always easier said than done, but you need to keep a hospitable uterus for those hopeful babies!
I will be thinking of you on Mother's Day! Jess

Mother's Day is one of my least favorite days of the year. I don't have my mother (have step-mom), I'm not a mother, and I find it difficult to be around others, especially in church. Honestly, I'd rather lie in bed all day.
I agree, like Valentine's Day, it is a Hallmark holiday. We should not need a designated day of the year to love or appreciate the special people in our lives.
I will be thinking of all of you.

It is not my favorite holiday either. My DH and I bought mothers day cards for our moms today and there was a great card that said "A wonderful mom and grandma." Well, I can't buy that one! *Sigh* My DH for the last several years has bought me a present on Mother's Day and he calls it a "Soon-to-be Mother's Day present". That has always made me smile because I know that someday, it will be my time.
