Ladies I know I have seen this topic here, but I may have hit a point of paranoia… again.
*** Warning, I am about to get ‘personal.’ *** During BD we usually use K-Y Jelly. I noticed increased dryness, especially once I started on the meds. I have heard conflicting info about whether it interferes with the little swimmers. We tried the Preseed but we didn’t like it, it didn’t last very long. I quit using it for a while, still no BFP. So, we went back to K-Y after I read a few reports on the internet that said it does not inhibit sperm mobility. Then last night I started to look into it again & found info that said it does. Listed under ”myths” I read that egg white inhibit the mobility, yet, I also found info that suggested Olive Oil, Canola Oil & Mineral Oil do work as a lubricant without inhibiting the sperm at all?!? I am so confused!!! I need to find something that works well but does not do anything to decrease our possibilities of a BFP. Help! Posted on 03/27/08, 11:03 am |

Hey Julie,
My RE said only Pre-Seed or egg whites, that's it. Did you buy the internal pre-seed with the insert application? I found this one really good. The great thing about both of these are that they help "carry" the sperm through the cervix and into the uterus. I have not used the egg whites yet, but apparently many women have had success with them. You seperate the yolk (which can have the bacteria) from the egg whites, my RE said it was very safe. If you google it there are specific instructions you follow. Good luck!!

I used preseed last month no Bfp. But I believe in the preseed.. Try the internal one I think you will like that better.. Good luck.

We used the internal one and it worked well. Yes, it dries quickly if you use it externally first, but there is plenty in the applicator - almost too much. The worst part is the silly noise when you squirt it in!

I was also told preseed or egg whites! The meds really make it painfull no matter what you use , or atleast that is the way it seems to me!

The 'internal' as apposed to the 'external,' didn't know there was a difference. THANKS. I guess I should try that.
I think our problem w/preseed is, it dries to fast. That is why we went back to the K-Y. It just kills me that we may have been contributing to our problem of conceiving by using the K-Y.
