periods and ovulating?

Hi all I'm new to this and for the past 3 years have just held out hope that I would get pregnant from just plain having sex like how I had my son 4 years ago... so now I'm starting to chart and worry and stress and look for anything that will help, cry every time I get my period etc. etc...
My question is this... people have asked me if I know for sure I am ovulating... I used to always say well I'm getting my period... I guess that isn't a sign that I'm ovulating... ( I should have paid attention in health class years ago lol ). Could I have somehow stopped ovulating or got "clogged ducts" after having my son? How do you know you are ovulating? I have just today started a basal temp. chart and I'm going to try to include the cervical mucus chart but I don't get much of that... I just ordered the PRESEED lubricant off the net today... I got a package of 3 so I hope I pick the right days! (cost me $9 for the three but with shipping etc. came to $25 so I dont' want to use it all willy nilly!) *sigh* so much to learn... takes the magic and fun out of it after all this time...

" You may also want to try an ovulation predictor. It is much like a home pregnancy test, but it tells if you are ovulating or not.

I find that I don't ovulate at every cycle.

Good luck. :) "

" I agree- buy the ovulation predictor kits. you can get them at wal-mart, target, etc. I ordered mine off the internet at www.early-pregnancy-tests.com and they are much cheaper. I used them cycle days 9-20 sometimes to find out when I was ovulating. Use the pre-seed then when you get a positive OPK. I think the pre-seed was worth it for what it's worth. Also, go see a doctor. They consider anything over 12 months of unprotected sex to be classified as infertility, so you can easily get the tests to see if you have clogged tubes and also blood work to see if you're O-ing or not. Good luck, and remember- TTC this time may not be as fun, but it will definitely be as "worth it!" "

" The ovulation kits are great but my doc advised me that you can ovulate at different days each month. I have been advised that the best chances of getting pregnant is to ensure that you are having sex at least three times a week - at best every other day. I understand how you feel every month is a dissapointment when your period arrives. Good Luck! "
