Discussion:
Sonohystogram actually not that bad...

Hi ladies,

A few days ago there was a discussion about the HSG (insertion of the dye into the tubes) vs the sonohystogram and which was more uncomfortable. I was VERY weary about the sonohystogram because I was told that I needed to have a full bladder when I went (and pictured myself peeing all over the exam table!).

Just wanted to inform the ladies who were just as fearful as I was about the sonohystogram that it wasn't nearly as bad as the HSG (at least for me). It only took about 3 minutes once the speculum was inserted and just some mild cramping afterwards.

I'm happy to report that there are no polyps, cysts or the like and my ovaries were carrying loads of good looking eggs...now only if we could figure out why the heck I can't get preggers?

PS I didn't even pee on the exam table! LOL

" Hey!! I'm an ultrasound tech and I can tell you that it definately depends upon who is doing the proceedure. Your bladder was full for your pelvic u/s but I'm hoping they let you pee before they did your hystero. There is no reason for you to have a full bladder for that part of the test. Best of luck to you!! "

" So happy that it went well and that all is clear! I agree with you, the dye test was much worse then the saline u/s. "
