i think 50mcg-150mcg are the doses most prescribed. Most people are just a little under as they get older.

Thyroxine stays in your blood stream a long time so even if you forgot to take it for a few days you would be ok.

It depends why you take it and whether you have been told your thyroid is just a bit underactive or that it doesnt work at all. Usually people are on a higher dose if their thyroid cannot make any thyroxine at all.

Theres no harm in you getting one if you travel alot and would feel safer knowing that people would know you were on it in case of an accident as there are some drugs that can affect the thyroxine. "
