Hi, I'm Jennifer, 30 from Tacoma, WA! I was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with hypothyroidism and hashimoto's. I had a TSH of 51.2. Ive been taking 75mcg of synthroid since. I got an ultrasound done and i have multinodular goiter and they are solid, so i have an appt with an endo 1/9. I assume i will have to get a fna which freaks me out since i have anxiety and hate needles. has anyone else gotten 1? I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Happy New Year!

" Does fna mean you're getting a biopsy? If so I had one done for the same thing. I'm okay with needles, just not when they're put in my throat ;) They will numb the area but they can't numb it all the way. There is a slight prick and pressure when they take the sample but I likened it to a scratchy throat feeling. You cannot talk or swallow while they are doing it, but it really doesn't last for very long. I just laid there and went to my happy place for a few minutes. Good luck with your test!

" Hi, Ive also got a multinodular one and had a scan, I didnt have the biopsy as the man that did the scan said there was too many nodules to test them all, theyre leaving mine until it starts growing but since being on a more or less correct dosage its not been any trouble luckily. Happy New Year to you to and good luck with the apptmnt. "
