Homelessness Support Group

I have been homless on and off for the past10 years and I keep wondering when am I going to get off this rollercoaster.

well, i suppose it depends on your circumstances of how your living your life. if you have a drug or alcohol problem - you need to take care of that first. if you do not, then take a good look at your life and look for areas that you could improve upon. for me, it's lack of training in a specific enough job field where i could have the potential to increase my wages with advancement opportunity. so... back to college i go to get further in debt. what i'm doing this time is being more specific and thinking what CAREERS are going to be needed, still be around in 20 years. and looking for a higher end pay scale. i'm thinking long term and i'm thinking how do i protect myself from our failing economy the best i can? start looking to your future and what you can do now to build towards it. then, get going on it! i think if you are looking to the future rather than focusing on how do i get through today (we all have to do a certain amount of that, but don't dwell on it)that you can change things for yourself. you'll be building new habits.

Ive been on and off the welfare system for Gods; many many years. Sometimes its a drag and other times its a blessing. Pending homelessness now at 40 with 2 little kids and one on the way is no laughing matter...no matter what I do I cant seem to get ahead....

I was homeless in 2005 and still homeless in 2008. I am in a shelter for the time being.
