Sorry, I don't live in your area, but the only advice I can give you is to start by following your heart. If you feel that home schooling is right for you and your family, then go for it. use the internet to locate some support groups in your area...this was a wonderful support for me and my family. These people have been through homeschooling and can help you or direct you to the right people. Good luck!

I am not in Mass but, first and foremost, if your child is being harrassed and public education is doing nothing about it...you have to take the reigns and do something about it.
Get on the internet and do some research. Here in the state of Pennsylvania we are to submit a notarized affidavit to our superintendent with a list of objectives and that legal document puts the power into the hands of the homeschooler. We have been homeschooling for two years now, and I have no ideas why I ever thought twice about it. I also am a teacher and come from public education. Sometimes what's right for your children isn't necessarily what's right for everyone eleses children. Point is, they are your children and you are doing what is best for them. Check the internet to see if certain subjects must be taught and adhear to them. There are many valuable resources on the net. Also, check yahoo and other places where chat boards are found, look for local homeschool organizations. In strength there is numbers. Good luck.

Home schooling is a great opportunity to reconnect with your children. My 11 year old loves it. He has been given a lot of freedom around the house as to what subject he wants to do as long as he takes care of it for the day, then for the week. We go to a charter school that accepts pretty much any curriculum we use. The school that your daughter may be going to might have an independent study program. I would start there if that is the case. If you are not happy with their rules and regulations, go and explore "out of the box." Just type your town name and home schooling group and presto, you may find what you have been looking for. There are many types of home schooling groups. They will file your paper work, and all you need to do is buy your won curriculum and keep record of your work. You go at your own pace and cover the topics you want to cover for each subject. If you have a faith, go with your religious organization and find out what they do. There are many ways to home school, so don't quit, you can do it!
