That is the question.

I'm only 19 but I've had high cholesterol for years. My mom's cholesterol was in the mid 300's before her doc put her on meds. Mine is currently 281, up 20 points from 3 years ago, despite diet changes... My doc wants to start me on Lipitor, but I'm not a fan of being on lots of medications for the rest of my life... Any opinions? What experiences have you had with these drugs? Any natural things that actually work? Why is high cholesterol so bad, anyway? My mom never had any buildup in her arteries and no heart disease (She's 52).
