I have gone to the doctor and my BP was 140/112. He prescribed Lisinopril. Has anyone taken this medication and what side effects have you experienced? Has it helped or not? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

" No, I haven't had this, at least not under that name (some of the drugs are marketed under other names here) I use a site "drug database" that lists all the drugs and their side effects. That would be one place to start. You could also just google the drug name and see what that brings up. "

" I took Lisinopril for several years, the only side effect I had was a dry cough, it got to the point I knew I had to do something so the doctor put me on Cozaar. The cough is almost gone. I would continue to Lisinopril until any side effects show up. Good Luck "

" I was just put on this drug after being on Diovan for nearly 10 years. Diovan kept my BP well under control, and I would still be on it had I not lost insurance coverage. It is a very expensive drug but works great. The only side effect I have felt from Lisinopril is a very drunk type feeling (like walking into walls?). I know it must be this drug as it is the only new one that I am on... however I wonder if maybe it is interacting badly with some of the pain meds or depression/anxiety meds I am on. Has anyone else had this drunk or very very drowsy effect from Lisinopril? "

" I had severe leg pains on Lisinopril and my blood pressure would flucuate.
I was switcged to Micardis Plus which the plus is a diaretic. Despite the fact I started smoking after quitting for 15 yrs as a result of my STBX's first affair I have had great blood pressure and no side effects "
