Acne Treatment & Colloidal Silver

HI,
I am new here but have been an HS sufferer for many, many years. It have gotten progressively worse over time. I found a site on the internet that recommended liquid colloidal silver and that worked for me for a long time. I would have about a teaspoon twice a day and it would cause the outbreaks to drain, then go away.
Recently though, I have had many outbreaks (always in the groin area) and the colloidal silver did not work. I kept reading that doctors would prescribe acne treatment antibiotics. Antibiotics never worked for me but I thought I would try topical acne treatment. I started with Avon and then bought Proactiv. I have used it for almost a week now and my condition in definately improving!
I would recommend trying either or both. The colloidal silver worked for me for a long time but I think this acne treatment is going to be the answer I have been looking for.

" I also have used acne treatments perscribed by my dermatologist. I use a wash and a lotion everyday and then when I get bad breakouts they perscribed me another lotion. These are not antibiotics tho. And they are all covered by insurence. It may be cheaper for you if you have good insurance. "

" This is terrible....but what do you do about the drainage and smell? I try to bandage and I use alcohol pads to "clean" the outbreaks each time I go to the bathroom, but there has to be a better way. Bandages are not good where I have mine and I have so many of them that are in constant drainage. There...I have asked the most embarassing questions. "

" Janakrist, I sometimes use maxi pads where regular bandaids are not enough. Also they give alot of padding so that wearing clothes and sitting are not as painful. As per the smell, the only thing we can do is just keep it as clean as possible. I have yet to find what is helpful for that. "

" I was wondering, and someone had asked but, did you find thatthe colloidal silver changed your skin color? I am not kidding when I tell you that I just saw a BLUE man on the news last week that had been taking colloidal silver for years. He was literally dark blue. Carefull with that! Also wanted to add that I myself use acne pads and benzoyl peroxide on mine after each shower - morning and night. As well as taking turmeric pills (I TRIED drinking that stuff, couldn't do it) and zinc. The pads and benz. peroxide keep things quite clean, and not icky smelling either. "

" No, my skin never turned gray or blue and I saw the blue man too; that was really something! I would only take a tablespoon at a time and only once a day but only during the breakout time. I had good luck with it for years but then it quit working. "
