My son is in prison for the second time for crimes he committed for his addiction.We love our son very much regardless of his problems.Our son is also bipolar which makes every twice as bad.He lies cheats and steals to get drugs.Now he writes me letters saying he wants to hurt his self in prison.Im at the end of my rope with him.I dont think he,ll ever give it up.Heroin is the worst drug on this earth.It seems like the only way to keep him away from drugs and alcohol is jail.Im very depressed over the hold thing,but I know there are worse people off than myself.I read in the paper today about a star sports athlete is being charged for trafficing herion.I think its awful that he is throwing his lfe away and my son

I am so sorry for the hurt your going through, addiction is A FAMILY disease! I have been clean for almost a year. Ive been to prison, over 7 rehabs, suboxone, methadone, in patient out patient, but i go to NA (narcotics an) and i see TONS of heroin addicts live clean, including myself, be happy, repair their lives and gain their selves. RECOVERY is amazing. go to half price books or look on line send him all the NA literature you can. he has nothing else to do in there. this may or may not help, but it is worth a shot.

Thats a good idea,I think I will.He was locked up over two years the first time and went right back to it.Now IM sick with COPD and I don't think Ill be living to much longer to see him clean up his act.Thank you again.
