I am not an addict but my partner was, so I am told that it is not impossible to quit without professional help, but it is extremely hard and not advisable. Living with an addict is very challenging to say the least. Heroin changes people so much. All i can say is if you have any valuables lock them away. It may sound harsh but addicts are so focused on their next fix, that they lose sight of everything that matters, including, unfortunately, friends and family. Most of the time there is nothing you can do for them. In my experience, heroin addicts cannot lead a "normal life", it takes over completely and suddenly your whole life revolves around using and finding the money to use. I am from the U.K. so I can't really help you with the price. I can tell you that a bag/wrap costs £10 here, which, i think is around $18 although i'm not sure. Depending on the person, they may need to use up to 6 wraps a day, maybe even more, everyone is different. I hope i have helped a little.
