" while on treatment back in 03, my PCP, being new to these treatment, didn't want me to take the shot.
But over the years,, this question always pops up, whenever it's flu shot time, and I've seen patients on interferon meds have the shot given to them.
I know one thing, I hate getting the flu shot, my doctors always pushes this shot at me, and I keep telling them that it makes things worst in my case, but since I have chronic pulmonary disease they want me to take it.

So to answer your very good question, I am not sure, some doctors do give a patient on interferon the shot, and some don't.

" I agree with McKenzie in that it differs depending on the individual. My doctor told me to be certain that I do get a flu shot when they become available. I have gotten one every year for several years. As always, check with your doctor. "

" I say follow your specialist's advice. My doctor told me to get the shot, and my Heptologist said I didn't need it. Didn't get it and I didn't get the flu or a cold during tx. but who knows I may now be invincible and frankly I seem to glow these days.... "
