alright. so tonight is my last night "free" i do my first shot tomorrow and im FREAKING out. its not so much im afraid of the shot or the sides, its my mom... and my doctor...

im not sure why its driving me crazy right now, i KNOW i'll appreciate it when i dont feel good, but my moms like.. all pumped up for this treatment. shes making me read all this crap and its all stuff ive already read.. in solitude. I deal with things alone.. and when my mom is so eager to help, i get stressed out, and i dont want to snap at her because i WANT the help.. when I dont feel good im going to appreciate the help. maybe im just having jitters.

and my dr? pshhh. shes only available on tue-thur, and in the middle of my tx she is leaving for maternity leave. it takes her a year to call me back and so if somethings wrong i have to go to my primary care, and theres not too much he can do and god i want to kick her.

i am just so angry right now. i need some kind words. i need someone to tell me its all going to be okay.

" WE are your strength, compassion, best friends while you go thru this..because many of us have been thru therapy and we all have this virus.
Please try and be positive.
Continue to reach out to all of us here..especially McKenzie, TSuzy..they are two of the best gals in my opinion for support and education.
You will get plenty of love and support here and guidance. Just continue to reach out.
My other suggestion is to change doctors...get a good liver specialist that will be there when you need. You MUST keep trying till you find the best. Ther are alot of jerks out there..we have all been there too!!! You are worth it!
if you need me..I am here for you!
You will see tomorrow all the responses you get!
Hang in there!!! Remember to drink plenty of water..I heard that it makes a world of difference also look at all the info here on the boards at the questions others have had..you have family here...WE CARE !!!!! xo "

" It is going to be ok and believe me , having your mom there ready to help is God send. As faoctor leaving , that ok as you have the be in charge nurses and the pharmacy where you get your shots . They are always willing to help.So just take a deep breath and think ok I will have one down after my shot tomorrow. take advill if your doctor approves one hour before the shot and drink drink drink as that will help with the flu symtons. You probably will start to feel some sides around six hours after the shot , just take it easy keep warm relax and drink drink drink water. And every one is different so you may not have any. Eat even if your not hungry as you have to keep your strength up. I tale folic acid and vitiame c , alot . good luck to you and were here for you "

" You will be okay. The days before my first shot were very hard emotionally. I kept getting different start dates, and would get all worked up, then find out I was not going to start. So by the time I actually got my first shot....it was not that big of deal! I was so upset with myself, cuz I made things worse. So just know it is normal to be anxious. As to your mom, why don't you sit down with her and let her know how you are feeling. She probably does not realize she is being a pain to you. She is just trying to help you be prepared and ready for what you will be going through. I know my mom called me all the time...I finally told her a couple times a week is fine, please don't call everyday, cuz I am resting alot...not really, but it was nice to say that instead of you are bugging the crap out of me LOL. I just told her, I needed to be left alone while on tx..and that if I need something, I will call her. You will find you sort of keep your true freinds and family close while on tx, and sort of keep others at bay. You will figure out soon, who are really concerned friends, and who are not.
As to your doctor issue..bummer she is not good at keeping you informed. The one thing, at least for me, I go in for bloodwork, and the nurse is the one who calls me with results. Then I see the doc every couple of months. I am sure they will have someone filling in for her while she is away...hey it might even be someone better then her! I have a great doc, but I only see him at appts, and he has only ever called me directly once...his nurse is who I have a one on one relationship with. So, I know right now everything seems overwhelming to you. Just know that there are a lot of people here who can help you and encourage you. I know myself, I am almost done with tx..I know I could never of gotten through it without having my DS friends. Several I know will be life long friends.
Oh, you can get very emotional on tx. I was the first month or so. I cried at every little thing, commercials etc. It has calmed down alot, but it bugged me when I would just have the tears spill over something so silly. The out of my control thing kicked in LOL!
Anyway, I am here for you anytime. No question is to small.
Good luck with your first shot. You will officially belong to the tx club! LOL
God Bless You,
Barbara "

" hi mm3,

i start treatment tomorrow too. and my mom is wacky about this too and i'm 54y. and my doctor is only available mon, tues and wed in the afternoons. i figure this is life. i think we must stay positive and cheerful and just KNOW this is gonna work! when i first found out i spent the whole day in my pajamas; but yesterday i talked with a guy who just finished the treatment and he had NO side effects whatsoever accept for depression. he worked full-time, exercised daily and did bike ridding on the weekends. after talking to him i feel like "i can do this!" so, let's send each other positive thoughts tomorrow. " You will definately appreciate your mom when you're feeling bad, I was in, it sounds kinda the same situation with my mom and she ended up being a god sent, I never thought I would need her and her encouraging words as much as I did. As far as your doctor goes thats sound bad, do you have the option of choosing a new one. However during my treatment I saw my primary care provider once a week and without her I don't know that I'd have made it, she was always there and very helpful, so maybe you can find a good primary care phyiscian, I depended on her far more than my Hep C doctor. I wish you luck and I did it (unbelievable) so you can do it to.:) "

" Hi MM,
I felt the same way when starting, didn't know what to expect. I heard horror stories on how I'd lose my hair, get mouth sores and pretty much wouldn't get out of bed. I can honestly say that tx was challenging at times but totally worth every step. I am in my 13th week of 48 and I'm getting stronger every day. I am now undetectable and so happy I'm kicking the virus' butt. My doctior says because I'm a rapid responder, I now fit into the 80% chance of clearing this beast from my body. Don't freak out and your doctor may want to prescribe something else along with tx to balance out your feelings if needed. I wish you all the success and God bless! "
