Hi Everyone-
I finally got my results back from the liver biopsy. I'm a stage 1/grade 1. This is great news! My doctor said that she typically would not recommend treatment at this time, but it was up to me. I opted not to at this time. For now I will try to manage this through a healthy lifestyle. We will check my liver functions every 6 mo and if all stays normal I will have another bx in 5 years to see if there have been any changes. Hello Lisa, glad your liver damage is minimal and you decided to wait and see if in 5 years there is any changes.
If I had the choice in the matter, I would definately make the same choice. Just remember no alcohol at all, and keep on top of your enzymes at least every six months, and You should be fine. A person can live decades with the virus of hep c, live healthy and in the end die from a unrelated health problem. Promise us to keep us posted on your six months enzyme report. I'm not going anywhere!! Just because I've made the decision to not do treatment at this time, I still have this dreadful virus in my body and I need support and hopefully can offer support to others. I believe that as a result of the virus I've developed Fibromyalgia which is a bear in it's self. I'm sure I will need pep talks every now and then along with soft hugs!!
