You have a great attitude, and that will get you through tx for sure. It is good you are seeing a specialit too, that extra opionion will help you decide what would be best for you.
Take Care, and good luck as you start this new chapter in your life. Everyone here is great and will be there for you.
God BLess,
Barbara

Camille...At least you know now what the health of your liver is and this will assist you in deciding what to do next. Sounds like you will be working with some great doctors, so you should be in great hands. If you decide to do the tx, you will get a chance possibly to reverse some or all of that fibrosis. I have been on the tx now for 2 months with 9 more months to go, have had a few rough spots, but overall it has not been any where as bad as I had feared. You will have all your friends here at DS to help get you through it. This site and the caring people here have been a real blessing for me. Wishing you well. Hugs Jeannie

You are right, it could have been much worse to the point that tx would not be an option. Be thankful you are at the level you are and can move ahead. I wish none of us had to deal with what we are but it will only make us stronger. What's the ole saying about what doesn't kill you makes you stronger? Well, by the time i finish tx I can be a gladiator cause i will be so strong. Good luck to you,
stay positive, Beth

Well, It sure has been awhile since I last posted. I had my biospy done in 2002 and it was late stage 3 early cirrhosis. I just talked to the liver doctor this week and I am thinking about a gastric bypass. I also have NASH which is tripleing the effects of Fibrosis. I suggest you ask the doctor if you also have any NASH (non alcholic steato hepatitis). I am convinced that will kill us quicker then the Hep C. I cannot take the interferon so I must find another solution. Stage 2 is really good. Fibrosis progression is slow unless you drink or are over weight. Viral loads and genotype also have a big effect on TX. I am passing on interferon and I will take my chances with my God.
