Discussion:
The water issue

I'm gradually learning about the things we should and shouldn't eat and drink and one of the things I'm still confused about is the issue of which type of water is the safest for us to drink.

I know that regular tap water is bad. Is it okay to use a home water filter or purifier instead of bottled water? I've heard that the plastics used in the containers for bottled water can leach harmful stuff into the water too.

So what do you all suggest as far as safe drinking water?

I hope this isn't one of those topics that has been talked to death. I looked back aways in the older posts and I didn't see anything that really answered my question well enough.

" Hey Mary,
I only drink bottled water because I have a phobia about tap water, well maybe phobia is too strong, I just feel like I'm safer with the bottle. Although I do use tap water in my coffee machine. My 2 cents only. "

" There are studies out that show that most bottled waters are no safer than tap water (well water not included unless its tested) Brita carafes filter and Sears counter top models are both rated well by consumer reports, with the Sears one doing better for chlorine and lead removal. I personally would not waste my money on bottled water that most get from municiple water supplies anyways "
