So I needed alot of dental work I had bad experiences with dentists and put this off for years...Noone told me to try and get stuff done before treatment. I love my Dr..I told him my teeth hurt sometimes on treatment. He said thats a new one. Then when I mentioned not going to the dentist during treatment which I heard so much here He said oh No you should go. Its real important to keep your gums etc clean..just if they are gonna do any digging around call me...
WELL Of course my teeth have been bothering me. One on the bottom sort of broke and the nerve has been exposed. I know ewe..yet it only bothered me here or there so hey leave it be and get through this treatment, The last two days I thought just bad sides I think its the tooth..It kept me up last night and I feel real bad...So I dont have a dentist..I emailed one Its so embarrassing....Hi I have bad teeth..one is emergency I have hepc......oh my gosh.........well I have to use my faith here. When I woke up over and over last night dreading this I felt God was trying to say to me you now have to get a dentist.....you avoided now Im making it happen because I know whats best for you...hummmmm anyone have any thoughts on this or experiences. Im scared........................prayer needed...even though Im a positive person this is just bad timing.......I should just relax make the appt go and talk to the dentist..aahhhh..goodnight. Diane go to the dentist...that tooth is not gonna get any better on its own. Ask people at work or church for a referral to a doc with a good "chair side" manor and then go see him/her. They have made so many advances in dentistry now..that it's not like when we were kids. I had a terrible experience in the dark ages when I was a young kid and did not go to a dentist again until my mid to late twenties. My dentist is an angel.. found out about him through a friend and I have been a patient well over 20 years now. I think I put at least one of his kids through college lol. Dentists are medical professionals used to taking all kinds of precautions in this day and time. So the Hep C shouldn't phase him. No go get that tooth fixed.

You should see the dentist, like csick said.
They work on HCV and other patients with all sort of illnesses everyday. And they take precautions too. The only problem would be if the stuck themselves with a needle, but they go to the hospital immediately and get a base line test. Hardly ever does anyone get infected that way. There is a clinic in my town and I know people who work there. They work on HCV, aids and all type of patients. I would go and not worry about it

whatever happened to bring this combo of circumstances into your life at this time, God will get you THROUGH it! I was terrified of dentist after a bunch of REALLY BAD exp's in past---and then a recetionist who thought HCV is same as LEPROSY---rendering me "unclean! Unclean!" Recently found Christian guy who doesn't treat me as a leper (I'm a HEPPER, NOT a LEPPER!!!!!), and is WAY gentle with me, too! Has made it his personal mission to change my attitude about dentists! When I saw him during tx, Rich even did a couple of "repairs" "gratis." How's that for "God at work?"
I'm nothing special, baby girl---and anything God does for me, He will also do for any of his other children, too!!!! Gotta go hug the pillow! (Nitey-nite!!!!!) k:)

I just had a dentist appt today with the oral surgeon, I got an implant in Feb, and the abutment today, and the crown impression next Thursday, and then the crown a week after that. What a fun trip. Only costs about $2500. Plus I have a molar that needs work, it showed a shadow in the xray that they took today. HCV and dental problems seem to go hand in hand. Take care of things right away is my motto. Both my dentist and oral surgeon know about the Hep C. Neither seems to be that bothered by it. Or maybe that's why he dropped his tooth screw driver into my mouth and I had to cough it up. Thought I was going to swallow it. I gave it to him.
he said, glad you didn't swallow that. I said, yeah, I would hae had to give it back tomorrow, and he said, I would have let you keep it. LOL

Oh No! Bummer on your tooth...but do get it worked on before you need a root canal. I have found, when we wait, it just adds more problems down the road. The dentist should know about HepC...and treat you accordingly. You will feel better once this is all behind you. I will pray you get in with a great understanding and gentle dental doc. Keep us posted....we wall want to be praying for your tooth pain.

HAve had an exposed nerve before....You are in too much pain.....go see the doc. It really isn't that bad. Ask for nitrous oxide to relax you and then breathe deeply.
You may find that tx is not so bad after this repair. If there is any decay the infection is near your brain and circulating in your bloodstream making you feel like crud. You'll be just fine. Do we need to form a committee, make the appt, take you by the hand, and get this done????? C'mon big girl.... "when I am afraid I will trust in Thee.." '

Dilew. I prayed for you last night. Prayer and positive thinking is your best medicine! Go to the dentist. With all the side effects from tx you can at least control this "pain" in your life. You have enough to fight through dont add this to your list. You can do something about this tooth so talk to your dr and get this taken care of. I spoke to my dentist a few months back and I was surprised to hear how many hep patients she has. They understand and take the necessary precautions so dont worry.
Go to the dentist, you will feel better once it is over.

Hey girl going to the dentist isn't a bad as we make it out to be. And I was never told not to go to the dentist during TX. I had my teeth cleaned twice while on TX and had some other work done too. So just pick up the phone and call. Dentists are usually more understanding than regular doctors anyway. Mine is great, when I told him I had HCV he was very understanding and caring. The whole staff was. I have a tooth right now that needs some work done so I'm going to be right there with you, going to call this morning and get it done. Nothing like having a tooth ache.
