I was planning on taking my second shot tonight but when I went to the drugstore to pick up my medication the dude behind the counter said...
"sorry, but they're not in. We ordered them days ago but They never showed up yet."

I said
WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!Are you for real!?!I can't believe this...
Seriously now, what the ____ am I suposed to do?

I left in utter dismay...once informed to check back tomorrow.

I started treatment Wed April 9th at 12 noon. I wanted to do shots at home on Tuesday nights and now I'm not going to be able to do that (this week anyway...)

If the meds are not in tomorrow...
What should I do?

Do you ever feel like saying .. "WHY ME"

" I am new here so I thought I would write You! According to the instructions on the box you skip this week and start again next week unless it is in tomorrow! At Christmas I had to skip that week or not be able to enjoy my family so I just picked back up the following week! But I was told to not let this happen very often ! I order my meds 2 days prior and it is always there by the next day so you might want to change Phamacies if it happens again! If you want to talk write me sometime! "

" How is it that you had only your first shot and no other meds?
They normally come in a month's supply worth.
What type of tx are you doing?
I have never heard of having only one shot and what about the pills?

Something is missing from this picture. "

" Hey sister. I would call your Dr. ASAP and explain what's going on. I also had the same problem and my Pharmacist was so understanding that he made sure he always had it in stock for me, even when my insurance didn't cover it and charged them later. Explain the situation to them. Once you start you can't stop. They need to know that. Gosh if you lived closer I'd give you my extra. Damn it! Don't get discourged! Let us know what happens. In my prayers! "

" My perscription was for 48 weeks. The first thing I did was take it to the drug store as soon as my psych nurse gave it to me. She said I had to bring my meds with me the following week when I was to see another nurse and learn how to give myself the shot. Well, I picked up my meds the day before tht learning how to inject appointment and noticed only one needle and 42 pills. I am suposed to have 7 pills a day as I'm over a certain weight. The first thing I did was ask my nurse where I was suposed to get the extra pills from and she said not to worry ...They would supply them to me at the injection appointment. Well when I saw her she gave me 42 extra pills and said this will last you for 42 days then we'll give you more. Thank god they gave me these extra pills as now I have enough for quite a few days if my meds don't come in. BUT what about the needle...how long can one go before it's to late and you have to start from day 1 again. I did read the first responce(thank you for posting) that says you can just stop for a week and then start up again but does this not have repercutions??

Anyways my nurse that tought me how to give injections said I should ask the pharmasy to order me in a months suply...and that is exactly what I did. Now they are lost somewhere...
Hope this filled in the missing pieces! "

" Oh my gosh! I am sorry this is happening to you! It is not right! You have been through so many hoops just getting the rx to begin with. I would call your doc tomorrow, maybe their office can put the fire under your pharmacy manager. I too get a month's supply at a time. Maybe your doc can write your rx for the full month's supply at a time. That way this does not happen again. Beside, what a pain to have to go to the pharmacy every week! I do know I have to give my pharmacy one week ahead notice. The injections are so expensive, they don't like to keep it sitting around on the shelves. Hopefully you will get it all straightened out, I know you are a proactive person and will stay on it, I just feel bad you have more stress about this whole thing. I will be praying for you! "

" no, not really.
When I picked up my meds for the months from the pharmacy, everything was in 2 sealed boxes.
Each box contained two premeasured redi pens, plus boxes of pills for 6 a day for 14 days.
Each box was complete and plastic wrap sealed.

I don't see how you received your meds loose? "

" I have extra meds left over as well if you want them..their still good. You can ask your GI for the pills and the shot. The same thing happened to me and I didnt want to screw up my shot day so they have extras at the office to give me. Good luck with your meds. Dont get to upset about it, Ive had my meds and my blood tests screwed up more then once on this TX. "

" My bills came in a bottle of 42 and 1 prefilled needle also came in the same box. It is the Pegasys kind of meds. I got a pill container from my nurse and put 4 mills in the morning of every day of the week and 3 pills in the p.m. side. I recieved a 48 week perscription...took it in and got 1 week suply back. Now I asked for them to send 4 weeks at once and they said they could...then it doesn't show up.

I may have to drive for 3 hours tomorrow to the city to get the shot...If my hep c nurse can get me ome somehow....I don't know

this is such a frigging nightmare. "
