I know I have small, cystic kidneys ( I'm also a member of the Polycystic Kidney Disease cite. I have sub-diagnosis of chronic kidney disease) but I was reading the lab test info. on the HCVadvocate info site that people put a link to earlier and it says high blood Creatinine and kidney damage can occur as a result of HEPC.

I have very high creatinine and BUN.
Is anyone else having this problem, too?

" Hawaiibluecj, Be sure and have your doc check your bood Creatinine and BUN levels.
Since kidneys have cysts & it might be related to HEPC, you need to check to see if those blood results are elevated. "

" The cysts are what lead my doc to finally check me for HEP.
When the first doc I saw was checking me, he palpitated the area around my liver and I yelped & almost jumped off the examining table because of the pain.
The doc thought maybe I had gallstones again, as he said gallstones can grow in the bile ducts even after gallbladder removal. My gallbladder was removed in 1974.
The clinic then sent me to have an ultrasound of my abdomen. They found cysts on my kidneys and that my kidneys are either normally too small or had shrunk.
I saw a urologist and a nephrologist and those docs thought that my kidneys had some problems but not enough to cause the symptoms I was experiencing.
Then the doc tested me for HEPC.
I think the pain I felt in that examination is probably from liver damage due to HEPC. It still hurts if I poke there. "

" probably nothing, but i've been off meds since oct 8th. went on vaca nov 2nd. then 3 days later had kidney stones. first time i've had them, ever. 2 small ones in the kidney (which wasnt really the problem just then) and one big one blocking the tube from the kidney to the bladder.

now i'm wondering if it was from the meds.... "
