My Dr. (V.A. Hospital) wants me to go on with the treatment. He says I have an 80% chance of ridding myself of HepC. And I only have to go 6 months. Is it worth it?

" I haven't started treatment yet, but will be soon my friend! And this is my opinion, HELL YEAH, it's worth it! I am all over the chance! If someone told me that standing on my head would help then guess where you would find me? Yep, in the corner attempting to stand on my head, LOL!Successful treatment means no liver to the damage, no cirrhosis, healhy lifestyle again! Boy would I kick myself in the ass if I just sat back and didn't do anything because of fear and let this disease slowly attack my body! Have faith! With God and with faith, and with a kick ass attitude you can blow this dragon right out of the water and put the ahole in it's grave where it belongs!! God be with you! "

" It's worth it. After completing my 48 week treatment I feel invincible. Nothing in this world feels unachievable.Weather it works or not you will be a better person inside. I will never regret going threw treatment, but I'm sure I would regret not going threw it at least once. Id sure hate to be lying in a hospital bed someday thinking WHAT IF. "

" Definitly for you!! You must be a Type 2 because they have a better success rate and shorter time on TX. It's the Type 1's that have more of a risk. Wish you well on TX, DS is a great site for info and support..Welcome! "

" Hey...well i can tell you that my brother had pancreatic cancer that spread to his liver. When it reached his liver,is when he died.It is a really, really bad way to go.Personally, and i say all of this with respect to you,I don't want to go that way. There is a 20% chance that chronic hep c will develope into liver cancer.
I don't know alot as this is the beginning of my journey too.
I was diagnosed 4-07.I am geno type 1a,stage 2, grade 2.I will start treatment i am guessing the 10th of march.Whether it works or not, I will do all that I can to avoid what i saw my big brother go thru.
Do the treatments. You won't be alone. We are all here to support you .
Love and hugz, "
