Got my diagnosis at Easter time. I, too, am scared to death. It seems I'm not the only one who has no idea where this came from or how long I've had it. If I hadn't pushed, my doctor wouldn't have run the hep panel. Now I know I have genotype 1, the least responsive to treatment. My husband says I've read too much and am just scaring myself, but inquiring minds want to know.

I see the GI dr on the 27th. The wait is killing me. Trying to keep up a good front, but all my friends can tell there's something amiss. I haven't had the courage to tell them about this yet.

I suppose I'll get a liver biopsy and that scares me, too. there's nothing about this that's easy.

" I promise you it gets easier in alot of ways! It takes a while to get used to the whole idea. I was right where you are this past jan. You tell people when you are ready not before. You can never read too much! It will all sound familiar after a while and you'll be comfortable with then info. As for he biopsy-It does not hurt-I promise. Treatment is an option as you well know by now. I am in week 3-it is doable. I have had NO sides this week! Hope that continues but if not I am ready with the tylenol! Feel free to ask me anything. Just note-i am only an expert on my experiences. Oh yea, don't worry how you got it-just move forward. I was telling my dentist about getting this thru a transfusion in 1979 and he told me if it were him he'd make up a better story than that! So, i was partying with mick jagger and keith richards.
