Hello-

I'm so glad to have found this site. I'm totally freaked out! I started not feeling well around February of this year. I went to a walkin clinic and they took some tests and told me that my RH factor was positive, so then I went to a Rhuematolgist (not sure if I spelled it right)and he told me that it sounded like I have Fibromyalgia so he started me on muscle relaxers. He also wanted to run some tests. I started the medication and also started to see a Reflexologist. It was amazing how I just made a complete 360 degree turn around. I haven't felt this good in 3 months. I was so happy to be able to go back to the Dr. on May 19th with this good news. Today I get a phone call from the doctor asking me if I've ever been exposed to Hepatitis? I told him no that I really didn't know much about Hepatitis. He told me that I tested positive for the Antibody and that he needs to run more test. I am totally freaked!! I don't have and tatoo's, I don't inject drugs, how the heck could this be? Also can someone tell me what TX means? I see different posts that people started the tx treatement.

Is there any way that I could carry the antibody but not have the virus? I just can't believe this. Also since hearing this news all the good that was accomplished in the last 2 weeks is out the door! I'm in so much pain today! My body feels like it's on fire!

Please tell me there is hope for me!
LD

" The antibody is the evidence of our having been exposed; it doesn't necessariily mean anything, though. Let your drs check you; if you have the actual virus, you'll test positive for the hepatitis antigen. There actually are people who are exposed, and then clear the virus on their own. My prayer is that you're one of those! Remember: so far, we just have an indication from your body that you've been exposed to the virus---NOT that you've contracted it!
Let us know how things turn out! keefer "

" Lisa,
tx is the abbreviation for treatment. Your pain may be unrelated to the HEP C virus. Actually, it's not clear which HEP type you tested positive for. (A,B,C,D,E).
Fibromyalgia is a painful condition which like HEP C very little is known about origins of the Illness/virus. There is alot of research and studies being done for both conditions to find cause and cure.
I hope this info helps you.
God bless you. "

" Hi Lisa. My brother has the antibodys, but is not active. I am active, and have liver damage. Keefer is right, you may clear yourself, but hun dont worry to much, we all have it here, and we support each other, and once you get past the initial shock, it will be ok..

I have many ached and pains ans arithritis, and I have a couple hot spots on my left leg, which Im checking out again, cuz I think it could be fibromyalgia. I learned that here. It may or may not be from HepC your pains, but it might be.. Keep close to us Laisa, I think you will meet some sisters and brothers fighting this disease together, and with much love. Please feel free to write anytime. TucsonAZ "

" Thanks to everyone for replying. I feel so much better knowing that I'm not alone and if indeed I do have this virus I will be able to cope. I'm still waiting for the results. I'm always complaining that the weeks just fly by. Boy when your waiting for something is surely isn't the case. I'll update everyone as soon as I get the results. Thanks again for the kind words of support. "
