Hello to all in DS land. If u are new and debating treatment, in treatment already, or finished treatment...I am here to welcome you and share my experience, strength and hope with you and let u know that if I can do it...so can u!! I am type 1A and finished 48 weeks this past Friday and had a bunch of ribavarin pills left and was informed today that I do not need to finish the pills!! I had a rough time on tx. That is not to say u will have a rough time. Everyone reacts diffrently to the meds. Unfortunately for me it was rough...but doable. I worked throughout my treatment but did take a leave of absence for about 3 months when I was approx 2 months on tx. Bottom line is I went from a viral load of 6 million to nondetectable!! I pray for all of us with this silent killer to get well and find peace in their day. The people I met here have helped me more than the doctors could ever help

" Congratulations!!!! I will finish in December and I just can't wait. My s/e have been brutal as well - work is difficult right now - hey did it get better? I'm on week 13 and am hoping things get better. Lots of fatigue, nausea/vomit, dizziness, shortness of breath. Hgb ok at 10.1 but I still feel like crap. I just got the news I'm undetected. I wish you the best. Am hoping to follow in your footsteps. God is good. "

" Thank you guys for all your kind words!! I wish I could tell you that after I stopped the meds I felt great. I still feel crappy but not as crappy when I was on the meds. It will take some time to get better. It took 48 weeks of tx to beat the dragon so who knows? Maybe 48 weeks to feel better. Each day just knowing I dont need to take the meds that made me sick is a good day. Peace out my warrior family "
