soy milk?

I'm kicking myself today because I gained two pounds this week! I accidentally bought soy milk instead of the rice milk I usually put in my coffee. That's all I've changed. Does anyone know if the isoflavones in the soy milk can effect the hormones and make you gain?

" I recently changed from rice milk to soya milk and found it much better at keeping blood sugar levels more balanced. i guess the only way you may have gained weight is if you brought the sweetened 1 in error. "

" I drink soy mild because it digest easier than reg. milk and fat cal. are less. I tried rice mild but prefer the soy. You may want to check the ingrients on rice milk and soy milk. I have never heard of it causeing weight gain. "

" I agree with dolly. Unless you increase your food intake by a lot, it is probably water retention and has nothing to do with what milk you were drinking. "

" Most soy beans grown in this country are genetically modified. The seeds are injected with a protein that resists Monsanto's herbicide RoundUp Ready. They are also forcing farmers to use their seed with some militant tactics that would make the mafia scared. The end result of all of this is they think that the genetically modified food is turning back into herbicide in our stomach. They also think that the decrease in the bee population is due to the GM foods by causing problems with their immune systems making them more susceptible to parasites and bacteria. In a rat study they found that the rats fed GM food recognized it as an antigen and caused immune damage. I am paraphrasing different reports that I have read and if you want to hear more Google the World According to Monsanto. Also Google genetically modified food/organisms and see what you come up with.

If I can I avoid soy and corn products unless they are organic as these are for sure genetically modified. "

" actually, isoflavones have been proven to help weight LOSS... so i don't know. however, the fat/calorie content of the soy milk you used may be higher than the rice milk you normally use. "
