" When i was pregnant with my first child my prenatal vitamins had 2000iu of vitamin d. I was always sick and we couldnt figure out why. Finally my doc thought maybe too much vitamin d. I switched to a different prenatal vitamin with less vitamin d 400iu and was never sick again. So my question is can you get too much vitamin d and will it make you sick? I was not diagnosed with gd until years later. "

" Yes Vitamin D is a Vitamin that doesnt pass through your body (urinte out excess) SO if you werent Vitamin D def and you were takin a high dose of Vita D it could make you not Feel well. But with Graves alot of ppl are Vitamin D DEf it is a very important vitatmin for us. i was Vita D Def I had like nothing show up in Bldwrk even in the months of Summer when I am near the sun more. Being Def can also make you ill they say really no more than 2000IUs should be taken. Hope this helps "

" Do you have to request to have your blood tested for vitamins or do the docs keep up with it on your monthly blood work for graves? I don't know what my levels are. "

" Get your vitamin D checked!! You do have to ask for it with your blood work, but I've been preaching about it ever since I found out I was deficient and how much it helped me feel better. "

" I have started vitamin D and Calcium combined as while the thyroid is dying off and also when the thyroid is dead and removed..usually calcium is low.
Vitamin D helps break down the calcium.
Also being an old fart( 48 years lol) ...I wanted Calcium for my bones.
