For those of you who don't know what the day of silence is: The Day of Silence is an annual day of action to protest the bullying and harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students, and their supporters. Students take a day-long vow of silence to symbolically represent the silencing of LGBT students and their supporters.
Beginning in 1996, the Day of Silence is held each year on a Friday in April. The next Day of Silence will be Friday, April 25, 2008. yup, that's pretty much it.
my biggest project besides the Day of Silence, is trying to get the three high schools in my area to approve a GLBT/supporter pride parade. anyone's welcome, it's just something special for us and those that support us.

THen yours is a school day of silence, this is the national one. Also, it changes every year, so if it was the ninth last year, it wont be the same this year

Gosh! I wish I could participate but April 25th is our prom, and it would be kinda dick to not talk to my date all day, shoot!

Oh, and Gss91- even if your prom is that day you should do it. I mean, I understand it would suck... but if you could get a decent sized group to not speak for the cause even during PROM... that would really send a message flying.

I am doing it this year, I wanted to last year but couldn't. It was the same day as my district's celebrating uniquness day and i had volunteered months before to spend the day explaining my disability to sixth graders. SO I couldn't and it sucked.
