Gallbladder and Gastritis

I had my gallbladder removed in June of this year. Since this time I have had an awful time eating foods and keeping them down. This past week, I had an EDG which discovered that I have gastritis. They took a biopsy to see if it is a baterial infection and i should find out in a few days. I was wondering who else might have had this same sceniro. I have good days and bad days. Good days, I can take the prilosec, reglan and phengran, and do/eat anything... then there's other days where i can barely move. My stomach, throat and tounge tingle and burn all day long.

How long does this last? What diet is good to stick with? What medicine works best?

I'm having to recover from surgery and now this.... when does it stop??!!

" I know the feeling you describe. I had my .out in March of this year. I was put on Nexium and all went well until I ran out. A week and a half later, it felt like my gallbladder was back in there causing problems again. It has now been 3 1/2 weeks since I started treatment with Nexium again. I have good days like you mentioned and bad days. It seems like if I stick with liquids it isn't too bad, but just about everything solid hurts. I have burning pain between my ribs and pain under my ribs and into my back. Like you, I wonder when it will stop. After my surgery, it took nearly two months for it to go away. I hope it doesn't take that long this time. Hang in there, and don't feel bad bothering your doctor if you don't see improvement. I plan to give it a couple more weeks, then I'll be complaining again. Good luck and let me know how things are going.

" My heart soul and spirit goes out to you! I have every sensation you are referring to. They checked my gallbladder and said it was doing what it's supposed to do and I'm glad I didn't let them take it out. I take 2 Nexiums per day, liquid carafate, 1/2 elavil at night and something else for IBS. I take sublingual B12/6/Folic Acid, non acidic Vit C, multi vitamins, acidophilius, whole barley life...I have a young child that bring home school bugs and I have to keep my immunity strong. Try to exericise, drink water or non carbonated things, eat smaller meals, and PRAY! IT ALL HELPS. "
