bad nausea

So I have the worst nausea today and I have barely been able to drink about 10 ounces today much less eat anything. I don't know why I am feeling this bad.

Yesterday I thought I was doing better and had some decent meals in comparison to lately.

Someone help please. I just don't want to feel so bad anymore. I have lost around 50 pounds in six weeks but I question if it is worth all this sickness.

" have you contacted your doctor about the nausea? I am only 10 days post-op and I have not experience any nausea, so I don't know what to say. Were you that way when you first came home from the hospital?

Thats awesome that your down 50lbs! "

" Start taking the Phenegran, or whatever it was. It really will help.

Over the next 6 months you will have days when you feel great! and days when you feel horrid, sometimes for no apparent reason. but usually it is something to do with a food you ate or you are just having a hard healing day.

Learn to enjoy the good days when you have them, as they help you get thru the yucky days. We all have them.

Watch what you are eating, it may be a particular thing is making you nauseas. Whether it is the food itself or maybe you aren't chewing that particular food as well as you could. Both of these things could be culprits.
God Bless!

Janelle "

" I too have been feeling very nauseas lately. I'm 14 days out and the last week has been awful. I don't care whether its protein drinks, water or whatever, I'm sick to my stomach all day. I wasn't given anything to help - what do you guys suggest? "

" After my surgery I was nauseated constantly. The went on for four weeks. I finally called the doctor and nutritionist and we discovered I could not tolerate the protein supplements. They made me throw up and I was faint and dizzy. They both told me this is not uncommon. So, maybe this is what it is. I did ok with the carnation instant breakfast, but could not tolerate the protein powders of any kind. Just a thought cause it happened to me......take care. "

" I would suggest contacting your surgeon and/or nutritionist. you may just be having allergic reactions. Alot of people become lactose intolerant post-op...just using it as an example....good luck! "

" Hi Amy, are you drinking any milk? Like Belle5 said you can become lactose intolerant and that can cause nausea.

I never thought it could happen to me, I LOVE milk! So when I was so nauseous after surgery I did not think about milk.

But the carnation drinks that they have you on post op are mixed with milk... as soon as I stopped the milk the nausea faded.

good luck! "

" I would suggest contacting your surgeon. Six weeks out you should be pretty well healed and
tolerating food. Sure there will be some that may upset your system but you shouldn't be nauseated all the time. It seems a bit early for a stricture but it is possible. Are you keeping track of what you are eating and looking for a pattern? I hope this resolves for you soon.
Good luck!
