Sore Butt For A Reason

I don't post too often on here, I mostly read others, however; I have a situation that I need to talk about.

Awhile ago there were post from others stating their butts were sore and they were thinking it's because they have "no butt" anymore to sit on. I too have this problem and could relate to the post.

This weekend mine seemed to get a little worse and when I was on the toilet I felt with my fingers around my tail bone and noticed a lump. My daughter made me call the dr. immediately. I happen to get into the dr. that day and she thinks it's a cyst (had a fancy name for it that I of course don't remember), if it is in fact what she suspects, it will have to be removed surgically. I go in today for a CT scan and will let you all know what becomes of this. Hopefully not too much! Thanks for letting me vent.

" cshaw, thank you and no, not caused by having GBS. In fact she said there is no rhyme or reason as to why one gets these. And let’s remember, we're not for sure what it is at this point. "

" It is probably a pilonidal cyst. I am a nurse and when I worked in proctology they used to be removed all the time. They commonly occur in the tailbone region.
Most doctors think that ingrown hairs cause pilonidal cysts. Pilonidal means "nest of hair." It is common to find hair follicles inside the cyst. If that's what it is it's really no big deal and more of an outpatient procedure anyway. Good luck!

" My husband had one when he was in his late teens, early twenties. He let it go, and it grew, and grew, and grew...to the point that the only comfortable place for him to sleep was with his head in a livingroom chair and knees on the floor. Don't let it get that bad. It's good that you are dealing with it now and getting it outa there! "

" Donna is right!

I had one of these when I was 14 and boy can they be painful! Get this taken care of soon, so it doesn't get worse!

Tho, I can't think for the life of me why they want to do a cat scan on it...obviously they want to get the money from the insurance company...

God Bless!

Janelle "

" i too find my fanny doesn't have very much padding anymore. it can be difficult to sit on hard surfaces for any length of time. i also have had several problems with pilonidal cysts, and so has my sister. could it run in families? i had them burst, had them lanced, had an operation in high school to remove it. it came back several times, especially when i was almost two weeks overdue to deliver my son. i couldn't imagine being in labor with that painful thing swelled up on me. it also swelled up the week before my wedding, and i had to get it lanced the day after our wedding. my new husband had to bandage it on the first day of our marriage. the relief i felt when the pressure was released was unbelieveable. it no longer bothers me, thank goodness! good luck getting rid of yours, i know what a pain they can be! " I hope it's just a cyst...or something easily taken care of.

Not only do I have less butt to padd my sitting...my but is actually starting to sag. That is so sad. Now I have saggy boobs AND a saggy butt. Great.

Take care. Let us know what they find out.
