For my choice this time, I have to go with GUILT FREE. I can't tell you how many times after playing online poker (and losing a lot of $) the almost choking feeling I would get due to guilt. With each time that I would play, the guilt seemed to compound, even multiply in magnitude. Knowing I was doing something that was so wrong in so many ways (and repeatedly doing it over and over) absolutely beat me down mentally.
I used to get what I would call "guilt headaches" on a regular basis. But not now! Out with the gambling, and in with a clear conscience. No more headaches, no more self imposed mental beat down. Feels really good to have left the gambling behind, I know a lot of you feel the same way.

" I am going to ditto this one
Free of guilt.
This is a good feeling but takes some getting used to. So many days spend hiding and covering my tracks it is now so different with a clear conscience. I sleep better, I achieve better, I think better, I can give of myself to others. I am not sick and tired all the time.
Guilt free! "

" I do feel the same way...it feels so good not to be caught up in my compulsive gambling addiction any longer! I'm FREE! I'm also very grateful. For me, feeling guilt for so many years, about so many things, that I had no control over, surly developed into a character defect, one that was eating me up from the inside out. I really thought it was just the way I was, a person who suffered from massive amts of guilt, and that I'd never change. When I was out there gambling, the guilt was heavy and pushed me farther into a state of self-loathing. I'm telling you, it was horrid! Today is different, I'm so happy to say :) Almost 9 months without placing a bet has helped me to see there's no reason to feeling guilty about my gambling addiction, as long as I'm not doing it. I'll admit I think about the damage I caused myself and others in the past, due to my out-of-control addiction. During these thoughts guilt feelings begin to surface. I tell myself, that was then and this is now. I want to make amends to those I have hurt emotionally, as well as financially. All this takes time, one day at a time. Feels really good to have left the gambling behind...I loved reading that simple sentence :) Thanks "

" Not feeling that guilt is a good one. For me, that feeling when I would wake up after finally being able to sleep...that slow realization of what I had done...the feelings of absolute self loathing, guilt...and of course panic. Not having to try to find ways of covering up what I had done...trying to find money to survive until next payday. "
