AGF Week Two

If you are wondering what this is all about, please refer back to last weeks discussion titled " Please Read", this will explain everything.

For week two, my choice is SHAME FREE. I am quite sure all of us had a great deal of shame hanging over our heads when we were gambling. That was one of the reasons I quit, I couldn't handle all of the shame I was feeling. Yuck! Such a huge burden lifted off of me on April 27th, 2008. The shame did hang around for a few days after, but has ceased to return and as long as I stick with my commitment to being gamble free, it never will return. Take care, looking forward to reading everyone's choices for week two.

" This week the improvement I am seeing is the time I am spending on my job. I have a route sales job, I go to the same stores every week on the same day. I have noticed I am doing a more thorough job and not rushing through things just to go to the casino. I have all kinds of time now to do the things I want to do, instead of spending alll my time at the casino. It's a great feeling to be finally free of that way of life. "

" My choice is RECONNECTION. I am able now to engage with others and not be distant in raging thoughts or worry.
For this I am so thankful. I am also reconnecting with ME. "

" NO LYING...I hesitated in telling my husband everything I had done for the day and immediately he thought I had gambled, can't blame him, but then I remembered the other errand I had run. It felt good not to lie or make up a story. I also said I didn't want to come here and say I had gambled, lol. "

" What I have now is SLEEP. I was constantly sleep-deprived when I was gambling, due to staying out to the wee hrs 3 or 4 times a week. Sleep is wonderful!!! "

" For me.....this week......the same as all weeks.........Today I have the ability and the power to make choices about how I will live, think, and act...........When my addictions were active I did not have the ability to make these choices---my addictions controlled all the moves. I was controlled, a prisoner. Today, without feeding my addictions, I have come to know freedom; the freedom to choose. "
