" My husband and I have a gambling problem that can be a recipe for disaster, but we have started sharing, what I meen by that is I don't keep anything from him, this is the first week that I showed him what bills came into the house, I wrote down what has to be paid and after I paid that bill I crossed it off, Everything that had to be paid balanced out with our income I was so proud of myself but this was the first week, I will have to see how next week goes. I do know how sick you can feel by after going and spending all that money and you think how stupid that was, that could have gone for something else it is very hard

" Captain, it is time to get serious about stopping the behavior. Until you do, we are all going to be hearing the same thing "Oops, did it again, or Had another bad night and I feel awful". Time to kick the devil out of the captains chair and time for you to take the wheel. Are you ready to get serious? "

" I am serious every time I quit.I have cut up my credit cards. I hate the fact that I have such a big problem. I used to live near two casinos and made good money and very rarely gambled. Its been bad for a good three years. I am going to beat it! In the past I have moved to avoid gambling but want to beat it this time without moving.Getting to old. "

" Well, my friend, you tell us you like getting drunk, smoking dope, dropping acid, snorting coke, that you want to be the leader of a cult.....and then you tell us you're serious about something. Seems like a bit of a contradiction....or maybe my sense of humor is out of whack.
I like a joke just as much as the next guy, but perhaps you might think about seriously getting to work on the problem, starting with figuring out exactly what the problem is.
Myself, I had a terrible gambling problem....it was even worse when I was drinking. (does that sound like anyone you know?) "

" Havn,t dropped for years..Acid got bunk.Mushrooms were ok but made me think I was god.Quit coke for a woman. Can't smoke dope anymore cause it makes me pass out.
Gambling let me down too but worst addiction I ever had. Acid made me crazy but gambling made me crazy and broke.
Addiction started when I was twelve. long story.. To keep sane I use my warped humor to keep out of my mind. I had anxity attacks before they had a name for them. Wanted to kill myself every day from age 18 to 23.
Today I am somewhat normal. I don't take handouts from anybody and work hard for the state lottery. If it were up to me I would outlaw gambling.
I did 12 step programs for drugs years ago. I did 12 step for drinking years ago. Went to counsling for gambling.
I know my triggers and hope to stay away. Main thing is not to have money avaiable. And I aint stupped and I are smart to.
As for my cult..I havn't a clue what to call it.Cost is on a sliding scale. No pencil necks allowed. "

" I know this kind of humor and it comes from a negative sarcastic kind of place. It really isn't the kind of humor people respond to in a positive way. Maybe if you stopped hiding behind the sarcasm and come out from the shadows you could truly heal. Instead of using the word "hope" to stay away why don't you try "I am going to stay away" When we use the words like "hope" and "try" we give ourselves an opening to fall off the wagon. For me I am "not" going to gamble. Period. Read a book, learn something, go for a walk, watch some tv, have sex with someone if you can. Do anything but gamble, drink, do cocaine or whatever other vice you might indulge in. In your picture you look to old to be doing this crap anymore. Grow up. "
