Does anyone else get pressure in their stomach? As though your stomach is going to burst? I've only just recently experienced this and wondered if it is a symptom anyone else gets with GERD or if it is something else?
Cheers

" It sounds like trapped gas. You should see your doctor for any changes your body has. If it is trapped gas then taking gas-X is very helpful. But if the gas is coming from your body not digesting food properly, consider taking digestive enzymes. I buy Twinlab at the health food store. I have had problems with trapped gas and went to the doctors. He had me do different diets to find what foods were bothering me. I found out a bunch. But also you could have a need for good bacteria. Mayb there is too much bacteria imbalance in your gut? Taking something like Activia yogurt is helpful for balancing this problem. Also you could take a couple doses of Pepto Bismal to see if you can kill off any bad bugs. But if these simple remedies don't do anything for you. Please get a check up. "

" This was a side effect for me to alot of the GERD medicines. They made my symptoms worse. They also made my heart race. I can't take them. If you are on meds for this tell your Dr. about the symptoms. "

" This sounds more like an IBS symptom to me than GERD. I've had GERD for five years and have never had a bloated feeling in my stomach.

Mostly, for me, the GERD symptoms effect my throat, although sometimes I can have a sharp stabbing pain in one side or the other of my stomach.

I hope this is helpful. "

" Yes, since I have had Addison's disease, my digestive tract has been a total mess. But I also have Human Growth Hormon deficiency and hypothyroid disease...so it could be a combination of all those illnesses. I take "DGL licorice root" tablet, "I-Flora," and "Adrenergize" on an empty stomach before meals, and then take Betaine HCl, Aloe Vera, chlorophyll, and Adrenal Health AFTER meals to help keep my digestive tract working well and moving things along. DGL Licorice Root coats, protects and sooths the stomach and esophagus, and I-Flora supplements work best in the intestines. The "Betaine HCL" and "Adrenal Health" supplements are to be taken AFTER meals. All these supplements have brought a huge relief from bloating and stomach and intestinal gas. You should definitely ask your doctor about these before adding them though, as there may be reasons and contraindications that conflict with your other medications and/or medical conditions, and your doctor can advise you wisely in this regard. Self medicating can really get you in trouble sometimes, as doctors are just not always forthcoming with vital information about your condition and the perils of adding unauthorized supplements so ya gotta ask. I hope this info is helpful in some way for you.
