Avioding Allergens

I really have trouble avioding my allergens. I crave wheat and sugar (which usually comes in the form of corn syrup) so I just eat them. I then get VERY sick with stomach problems and hives. This is happening almost every day now. Do anyone else have this problem?

" i mess up sometimes as well. it's hard for me, because if i'm out with people or don't have time to cook.. i don't really have a choice but to eat things i'm allergic to. when that happens i definately crave these things more, but when i get into the habit of eating right for a few days the cravings subside. i'd really suggest to push through the cravings for some time and really try to eat right. you'll feel a lot better and it will get easier to eat right as time passes. good luck!! " I know JUST how you feel. I find Natrol PMS control (an herb tablet) or hoodia gordonii (another herb tablet) kills the cravings nicely.

Craving the things you are allergic to is sometimes a sign of candida -- have you tried that avenue? "

" Used to get hives as a small child - inthose days kids were not fussed over - I either stopped eating what caused it, or outgrow it by having little of the food to which I was intilerant...however...stillon limited diet --at puberty II developed a form of mild (but v.itchy) excema
As an infant, dad used to have to give me an enema every Friday night due to chronic constipation- this stopped being necessary when I went to school - in retrospect, I was drinking only half the cows' milk! Fibally at menopause my gstric system just started to non-function: I was tested for allegies & food intolerances by sheer good luck: & I had so many I though t I would never cope. Ie: Cows' milk, Wheat, Yeast, Cane Sugar, Egge whites, anything contianing yeast - eg: wine, cider, vinegar, pickles, etc., mushrooms & moulds (similar botanical fam. to yeast) green peas, & mild sensitivities to oranges , mandarins, - all citrus. except lemons. Soon had to give up the tough ones. Milk I quit on friend's sheep property for long weekend. (craved it like mad!0 Felt not too bad on day 4, better on day 5. Used fruit cooked in pear juice instead of milk - later obtained source of goats' milk, which I can handle on breakfast only. I rotate cooked: Triticale, Barley flakes, Nature's Own rice puffs, corn flakes minus sugar (health food store) Drink blakc coffee - 1 t'spoon of honey. The reason one feels so sick is that the foods to which we are so sensitive are actually addictive: so it is like an alcoholic's quitting ancohol. This applies only to those foods eaten every day, not occasionally eten foods. I suggest to the person who cannot seem to give up certain very basic things (sorry, I forgot your name) that you just do it - strt on the Friday morning, preferably on long weekend. By Tuesday you will be feeling much better. If you reply with full list of things worrying you - and in what way, I shall do my best to help. Seldom do I receive relies - it just seems all to damned hard I suppose: but I'm convinced I'd bed dead by now without taking chargeof this myself. JaneD. "

" Yes! I have this problem to the extreme! It's getting better for me though, I decided it was more important for me to be healthy then to get a couple seconds pleasure out of eating something I know I'm not suppose to. How long have you known about your allergies? I'm about 7 months into it now...I've come a long way, at first it was SO hard, I'm a big fan of pretty much everything I couldn't eat...sweets have been the hardest and I LOVE bread and cheese! I remember I used to go about a week of avoiding my allergies...unfortunately I work with a catering company and the food is free...I would see a plate of donuts and eat about 3! I was craving them so badly. Quickly found out I couldn't do that...running to the bathroom every 5 min. and having extreme stomach cramping, pounding headaches, and skin rashes was NOT worth it. I'm only 21 though, and it's been hard to find the discipline, but I still at times want to give in. If you need continued support we should for sure keep in touch! Hope you start to feel better! Stay strong :) "

" OMG! I know exactly what you are going through! I am allergic to wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, soy and so on.. and i have candida so its very important for me to keep the wheat gluten sugary stuff out of my diet and stick to just meat and veges but its like every day i crave sugar and wheat and i just eat it, lot of it! its like a never ending cycle that im trying to break forever! Once you hit that 3 day hump of not having sugar or wheat or anything, things smoothe out and become easier to resist the allergens. It is very hard, but keep your head up, keep asking for encouragement and pray! "

" Sounds like a candida problem girl! Start taking an OTC probiotic like AZO yeast cure, or just those big garlic tablets that come in monster boxes at CVS, and see what that does for the craving. It's not you that craves the sugar -- it's the yeast.

Also, you should head off cravings by eating something sweet that's nonlethal, like an apple or even chewing sugarfree gum. "

" Yes, you can use homeopathy to desinsitise and you can test for the exact allergy.
If you go to www.allergiesmaykill.com you can get help and advice for the cost of an email.

Kind regards, Don. "
