I'm allergic to soy, yeast, nuts, corn, poultry, pork, clams, flounder, green beans, cod, mussels, scallops, trees, grass, mold, dust, animals, bugs, feathers.....
All forms of everything, which right now means I don't have a medication to treat my IBS cramping because all of he medications contain soy and/or corn. Trust me, I feel your pain. I take it all one day at a time. People that are non alergic don't understand. I hope that some day they will, that some day allergies will be treated as seriously as they deserve. Be the change you wish to see, and remember- you won't live there forever.

Yes, people can be very cruel about us folks with food allergies. Several years ago, my uncle's wife did not believe me that I was allergic to pecans and walnuts (as well as many other things) and decided to test me without my knowledge. She made some dessert after dinner one night with nuts in it that I told her I was allergic to in order to "prove" I was making it up. I, of course, had a terrible allergic reaction, and she almost killed me with her little "test." My uncle yelled at her and my mom was sick with worry, bu she just laughed it off as a "so what" situation. I just don't get why people are like that. And at work, folks just roll their eyes when I take a pass on certain birthday cakes and such that have ingredients in them I may be allergic to and behave like I'm some kind of party pooper just because I politely say "no thank you." It's gotten to the point where I pretty much can't or won't eat anywhere but at home and then make sure it's things I know I won't die or get sick from. Even some doctors hesitate to take this seriously and give me prescription medications that I later find out have certain allergens in them...and then they just brush my bad reactions off as "well, it didn't kill you, so get over it." Scary world out there. :-(
