Ok, so we took my daughter to Disney this weekend, had a wonderful time BUT....I ate, I ate quite a bit, just like I use too. I have been on WW since the first of the yr and have done well, slow but well. I ate at the buffets, I had pizza one night and starbucks...blah blah, you know the drill. ALthough I did not binge to bad, I know I gained a couple lbs, I feel it.
BUT....This morning I got up and jumped right back on the diet plan. I feel so good because I know I have not gotten rid of my addiction, but I have taken a really important step, I did not give up!!! Before I would just say %^&$^&%& and continue to eat and eat and feel worse and worse. Small steps, tiny ones mean so much when fighting this! Please give yourself credit for all the small things as well as the big! It is one step closer to being cured!

" What an inspirational post! You made a choice to go back on your healthy eating plan when you could have easily started overeating when you got back from your vacation. Stay strong and good luck to you! You are right - tiny steps do mean so much when fighting this addiction! "

" I just did the same thing over the weekend because I was on Spring Break. My friend and I went out to eat a bunch of times at familiar places and instead of getting anything semi-good for me, I decided to go all out and get the crappiest stuff. BUT, it's a new day now, and I'm about to go work out and hopefully not get stuck in a rut like I normally would! Congrats, and honestly, sometimes I think life is too short not to slip up every now and then and enjoy yourself... especially when you're on vacation! "

" Don't beat yourself up, it happens... the important thing is you got back up and therefore a dent should not be too bad "

" you are so awesome. i totally relate to this. it used to always take me forever to get back on the healthy track after a binge too and now i try as hard as possible to let go of the bad experience asap and get right back on track. otherwise i get discouraged and want to giv up and continue that bad cycle and allow it to turn into a horrible week or month instead of just a horrible day or two. it's all about staying on the road to recovery and success. even if we get off the road a little as long as we get right back on and continue our journey we will be champions. everyone messes up from time to time. im so glad you havent let it bring you down. good luck. " Thanks for posting!
It's amazing how you got back on the wagon of healthy eating, even after a little mess up. I think the reason why a lot of us, me especially, have addictions is that we use what therapists call: Black and white thinking...
But, there are many shades of grey out there... If we didn't do so great today, or even this morning, that doesn't mean that it is all over and we should open up the Oreos and go all out...
A binge for me is a sign that something is going on in my life that I don't want to deal with it and it a great signal to put a STOP sign on my behaviour and go through my OA steps. And to not give up because I am a perfectionist and like to beat myself up for not being perfect on my diet.
But perfection rarely exists in an imperfect world...
So, I'm really proud of you for getting back on your diet!
YAY!

" When I fell off for 3 weeks I felt like it made me stronger so I think sometimes we need a break and it's normal to deal with this. Thanks for sharing and being back on track makes me want it even more. Glad you did it but also enjoyed your vacation. See we need to lose a little to enjoy our trips so getting back on track isn't that hard on us when we do see a gain. I'm sure I will have my ups and downs but so far so good and thanks for being there for me. Kathy "
