I am a healthy weight for my height by I have a weakness. I am addicted to sugar. I have to have dessert after every meal, which is bad because I am hypoglycemic and I have blood sugar crashes after eating a bunch of sweets.

Does anyone else have a specific food that they are addicted too?

" chocolate, sugar ... i have BED, so when I can't control my urges, I go all out. I'm also a normal weight for my height./ I compensate by eating very little and healthy for a few days after the incident, as well as exercising. I'm working on trying to get to the bottom of the issue as well, rather than just covering it up with healthy food and exercise. "

" I find sugar very addicive, particularly ice cream. I can eat a favourite non-suagr food, such as bread, enjoy it and feel satisfied whereas with sugar, the more you have the more you want until that ends up being all I want to eat, it's so not good. "

" I am the same way! For me it's sugar in any form - especially baked goods. Cake, cookies, brownies, bread, etc are my weakness. I find I have to try to stay away from them for the most part to control my binges. "

" sugar is an addictive substance, I find that if I cut it out of my diet I don't want it... sometimes I have the urge to have a big sugar rush, but I know what that will lead to. Try and cut the sugar craving with a piece of frut or sugar free product... cause all sugar will do is have you wanting more of it. "

" Oh, yes, sugar too. I LOVE sugar, but the after affects are horrible, crankiness, moodiness, inability to get along with family members, etc., it is a terrible thing to eat, but it is good going down. This is not good. "

" Sorry to burst your bubble Mel1509 - bread is sugar. All carbohydrates are digested by the body as sugar - that's why if you're cutting out sugars it's best to avoid such simple carbs (simple sugars) as white flour items (bread, crackers), white rice & white pasta (enriched) etc. "
