" Well I am quite breathless when I finish my cardio exercises, but otherwise I feel fine. And in a few minutes I slow down significantly.

Without actual observation I cannot be certain about your case. Are you feeling dizziness or lightheaded? Nausea? How does your heart feel? How long are you breathing hard?

If you are not certain, the best thing would be to step down your intensity or duration a couple of notches. "

" not enough info: the questions I have include:

have you ever been checked for asthma?
do you have allergies?
have you just recovered from a cold or the flu?
do you have a history of respiratory ilnesses?
heaven forbid, you don't smoke, do you?

if there is no medical reason then my questions are:

how intense was the game of running? (intensity is a combination of factors, how, fast, how long, how much rest between sprints)
how frequently do you engage in activity at that level of intensity?
do you train for cardiovascular fitness? "

" I would suggest that you ask your dr about it.
Your profile says you are 15, so I would think that you be relaying this info to your dr and ask for a plan for exercise.

There could by many reasons for your being out of breath - some OK and some a concern. With most forms of exercise, you may become out of breath, especially with cardio or some other strenuous exercise, but should recover quickly if you are healthy and in shape. "

" My first impression was you are out of shape, but I have no way of knowing for sure because there isn't enough information in your post or profile. Do you do 30 min of cardio 3 times a week?

I've also noticed that for some reason good cardio endurance doesn't translate from one activity to the next. For instance, I've always been a swimmer. I could swim for hours, but I couldn't run a lap without breathing really hard for several minutes. Then when I was in running and swimming shape, I took up biking and again I thought I was going to die. Now that I swim, bike and run about 2 times a week each I would think playing a day of beach volleyball would be easy. That isn't the case, I still huff and puff like an old man.

One encouraging thing I've noticed is that when you change activities the endurance you built in one activity let's you build endurance faster in the new activity.

Without being a Dr., my simple advice is to cross train. "
