Might be losing my job

I posted this all in my journal, but sufficed to say, I think I'm going to be out of a job in a few weeks. Nothing I do is right, even down to my personal hygiene. So I have a couple cavities...who cares? And now they are saying associates are complaining about that and my attitude and claiming I'm stealing sales....yet my sales aren't high enough.

I really don't know what to do. It triggered a panic attack and I got sent home and now I feel so horrible. I've already applied for a few jobs...but no matter what I do, I'm going to lose this job and then I won't have insurance....how am I going to get my medication? And whatever job I get will be a deduction in pay....how will I pay my rent?

I could really use a friend right now.

" Unless you are working in a dental office or those cavities give you awful halitosis, I can't see why in the heck that matters.
Depending on what you medication is, you might be eligible for prescription assistance or maybe your meds are available through the generic plans at Walmart, Kroger, Target or a few other places. Also, try a free clinic or the clinic/pharmacy of a teaching hospital. "

" You will probably be eligible for unemployment compensation, at least while you look for another job. "

" Only if I get fired can I get unemployment and I plan on leaving on more or less my terms. I already have a half dozen applications out, and two interviews lined up...

Apparently, in regards to my teeth, appearance is very important. I work in retail. My question is, if how my teeth is so important, what about the associates that are overweight? Or the guys who are balding? Same thing!

Thanks for responding...I'll just have to see how it goes. "

" Mary!!! It can actually be a lot more difficult to get unemployment if you get fired! If you quit, you can get it easier, and I know this because I have 8 friends who have had to try to apply for it recently.
If you are given the choice between quitting and getting fired, QUIT! QUIT! QUIT!!!
When you apply for unemployment, and you were the one who quit, you can tell the unemployment agents that you were harassed, and working in a hostile working environment, and that is why you had to leave your job. if you get fired, they ask your old employers why, and if they feel it was your fault, they don't help you.
My 5 friends who were fired, have been denied unemployment. My three friends who quit, have already started receiving checks.
I really hope everything gets better, soon. The unemployment checks aren't much, but they're better than nothing. While you are on unemployment, you may also apply for health insurance benefits with the state. My old boyfriend lives in CA, and got on something called Medi-cal, or something like that.
I'm sorry the people at your job are such jerks!! "

" Oh...my ex-BF. Let me tell you his story. He applied at a job, got it, got them to pay his moving expenses, slacked off on the job, and then quit when his boss told him he needed to start coming in to work earlier in a tone of voice that my exBf didn't feel was respectful.
Honestly. That is exactly what happened. It was totally my es Bf's fault.
My ex BF had a lot of trouble getting a job afterwards, and applied for unemployment. He had only worked at his job for about three months.
I thought for sure he was going to be denied, but he got unemployment and now makes more money sitting on his ass, than I do working! It runs out in a year, but man!
So, if you get the choice, quit.
Good luck!! "
