This is maybe already on here, but has anyone ever been prescribed Flexeril for Fibro? My insurance just came back and said they wouldnt pay for Lyrica, which after reading the side effects Im probably better off. So my Dr gave me Flexeril. I really do not want to take anything that will make depression worse, cause suicidal thoughts, or make me gain weight. Anyone know anything about it?

I've been taking Flexeril for a couple of years. I haven't been diagnosed yet, and my doctor prescribed it for someting else entirely. I was thrilled to discover it! It really seem to help with relaxing muscles that are tense from pain so that I can sleep. Also can be taken during the day to relax the muscles if you can tolerate it. (I don't have a problem functioning while taking it, but my sister-in-law nods right off & sleeps for 2 or 3 hours) No psycological effects that I have seen. It's non-narcotic so it seems pretty safe to take.

I've been taking it for about 3 years and compared to xanax, which makes me very drowsy, flexeril is great for muscle relaxation. Also helps me with spasms and restless legs. Good luck with it.
Oh, just my opinion about Lyrica; the side effects seem to mimic my symptoms of fibro so why take it. It would be like a placebo.
