Has anyone participated in any clinical trials for FMS meds?

I just signed up for one on Xyrem. Any thoughts?

" I saw a commercial and got on-line regarding signing up. Apparently, they were looking for additional symptoms I didn't have so I got rejected.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

My doctor said Cymbalta will be the next fibro drug, as they are laying the ground work with the "depression hurts" commercials. They are in the process of obtaining FDA approval for fibro treatment.

If it comes out, I'll try it. So far, I'm having positive results with Lyrica.

He suspects we'll see more fibro drugs on the market since Pfizer (Lyrica) got FDA approval. Good news for fibromytes. "

" I've call the toll free numbers and they take my infor and say someone will call me back but I never hear from them. When I told my Dr. about it she couldn't understand why no one call. I wonder if it's because of the oxy I take and think it may be to hard to get me off of them to try something else? "

" sbugsb - that is what the trials are for, to see if Xyrem can be effective for fibro. I'm hoping it is! These are Phase III trials, so if the data from everywhere is good, the FDA could approve Xyrem for fibro.

" kabelladonna - I get enews alerts from the Fibromyalgia Network. They had an article about the trials and I went directly to the website that gave information about the trials and had links to the various clinics and states. It just so happened that there was a listing for West Virginia and so I called the number listed. I have a preliminary appointment for August 13. They said there was a 1 week screening process, then if I am approved to be in the study a 4 week "wash out" period where I go off of ALL meds, then the 16 week double blind placebo trial. I have a 1 in 3 chance of getting the placebo. I will get the link and post if any one else is interested. There seem to be a lot of states involved, perhaps someone else could find one in their area.
