My doctor just prescribed Lortab for me. Anyone else on it? If so, what are your experiences with it? I am a little nervous about starting it, but nothing else has been able to manage my pain.

" I have been on Loratab for two years now, It does not take the pain away complety but it does help me alot. I was in the same boat as you everything I have ever tried failed except loratab, bad news for me the Doctor that prescribe it to me is gone now I have a little bit left and I was told no more refills. I was given 7.5 mg if your feeling nervous I would start out by taking half and see how u feel, It will proably make u sleep. Good luck!!!!!! "

" Hi. I am new but wanted to let you know that I also take lortab 10/100. Like, the other poster said it doesn't take away the pain but it does help. I am able to function a little easier. I was very afraid of it when the doc gave it to me and I still don't take it as I probably should (per doc) but it does help.

Good luck!
Kristi "

" Glad to hear that it does help. I realistically don't expect to ever be pain free but at least if it is more manageable that would be great. "

" I have used lorcet/lortab. Lortab is hydrocodone with aspirin. Lorcet is hydrocodone with acetaminophen (tylenol). I had to stop using it when I began treatment by a pain management specialist. The medicine really helped me though. I couldn't take lortab because I have a history of ulcers so I used lorcet. The strength goes from 5 mg to 10 mg hydrocodone with either aspirin or tylenol. However, they did stop it gradually. I was surprised to see "reply #1 sbugsb1" that they just said "no refill". I use a Duragesic patch now but as far as an oral medication is concerned, the hydrocodone worked best for me. Good luck! "

" I'm surprised more people aren't on the 12 or 24 hour forms of these medications. They work constantly and there isn't the worry if you're going to run out. I believe these forms keep people from becoming dependant on pain meds. You don't get the wearing off feeling so you don't have to be worried about watching how many you take. You just take one 24 hour pill or 2 12 hour pills 12 hours apart. I wish you would see a pain management specialist. Good luck "
